About Me

My name is Brenda Miller and I am the Marketing & Communications Administrative Assistant at VisitPittsburgh. I started working for VP in April 2008 and have since been involved in a number of exciting activities.

I’m a Pittsburgher through and through. I was born and raised here, attended Pittsburgh Public Schools and went on to attend the University of Pittsburgh. Needless to say I’m a Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and Pitt Panthers fan.

The best part about my job is not just telling people about how great this city is, but getting the chance to actually go out and show them. Also, I do things with writers that I normally wouldn’t do on my own, for example kayaking the Allegheny River. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve gone canoeing and white water rafting but generally do so when I am a few hours away camping. I’ve never kayaked in the city and let me tell you, it was awesome. I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys the outdoors. Not only is it a workout, but you get a really cool unique view of the city as you paddle alongside a group of ducks.

I’m also a huge sports fan. I play softball for the Pittsburgh Sports League and this year I’m playing dodgeball in the winter. It should be really exciting, hopefully I'll make it through without any injuries Cool.

It looks like the Terminator might not be as farfetched as I once thought. At a press conference on Tuesday morning, the Carnegie Science Center announced that Roboworld, the new and improved robotics exhibit, will open its doors to the public on June 13, 2009.  As a special guest, Anthony Dan...
