A lifetime of happiness! No man alive could bear it; it would be hell on erath. Police originally believed two dogs were involved in the attack. But investigators now say that only one dog bit the woman and that the second one, which is still loose, does not seem cvbvkmn;op-[p098otugjfgvhnvbg aggressive. It was Port of Montreal employees who found the injured woman and called 911.No matter which are available, my WoW day runs a little smoother if I am not whisked away to do other things before savoring the familiar flavor of both my coffee and my dailies. What is it that jumpstarts your WoW day and makes Azeroth a great place to spend a relaxing day?

The woman, who was bitten on the arms and legs, tried to scale a barbed-wire fence to escape the dogs, further hurting herself, police said. The victim was taken to the hospital. Her injuries are not life-threatening, police said. The attack occured at 7:15 a.m. on a vacant industrial lot near the corner of Notre Dame and Sicard Sts.

Montreal police Constable Olivier Lapointe said. Police managed to catch one of the dogs, but the other eluded its pursuers. "We believe we caught the dog that bit the woman," Lapointe said. The dog will be held in quarantine and evaluated before deciding what to do with it, Lapointe said. The dogs' owner has still not been identfied.

"It's possible the owner is a homeless person," Lapointe xcvbhgiku9iy7urdtgdxcfgvb said, noting that there was an improvised shelter erected on the vacant lot where the incident occured. However, just because people routinely cut holes in the fences and cross the tracks in the same area does not mean a pedestrian crossing would be safe there, said Breanne Feigel, a spokesperson for CPR. Any solution would have to respect Transport Canada's Rail Safety Act, she said, and carefully weigh the needs of the community against the risk of having pedestrians near a busy train corridor.

"This is why, often, pedestrian overpasses are recommended instead of ground level crossings," Feigel said. When only the very best will do! The keepsake stoneware mugs will be a constant reminder of your generosity, as well as the many fine products chosen just for this holiday assortment.
Just finished decorating the VisitPittsburgh Christmas tree... in time for Light Up Night! So many things going on downtown to ready for the holidays- keep an eye out for updates.
A cool map to have while you're downtown tonight is Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership's list of coffee houses in the downtown area. Sip your coffee and enjoy the festivities tonight!
Pittsburgh's own coffee company, Crazy Mocha, has opened a location in Cranberry- just off Freedom Rd! This new store services the quickly growing city suburb and the atmosphere is as comfy as any of the other fun locales.
True story... I met a friend there one morning but was running late. My friend ordered me a drink so it would be ready when I arrived (10 minutes later). The barista noticed I was late and before I could sit down, she had made me a brand new coffee so I could enjoy it fresh!
I WILL return often!
Week 2 of returning from maternity leave and I am visiting some old favorites downtown!
For a morning cup of coffee with a smile, visit Alicia at Oasis for some gourmet coffee at a reasonable price!
Spent my lunch break yesterday at Burlington Coat Factory- went in for pants, came out with bunny slippers for my 4-month old. They have a WONDERFUL baby/kids section downstairs. More things than I had time for!
Now it's off to the Children's Museum for a meeting!
Treat your senses to a trip to Pennsylvania Macaroni in the Strip District. The delicious aroma of fresh cheese will have you running to get some. Going to PennMac is an experience unto itself. There's barrels of fresh peanuts, stacks of Italian cookies and roomsful of exotic ingredients that will inspire you to cook up a feast when you get home. It's worth the wait in the usually long line but PennMac staff is fast, efficient and super friendly.
My favorite person at PennMac is the "dearheart" lady who works behind the cheese counter. She smiles with such sincerity tha you feel like nobody else is more important than you. No matter how bad of a day you may be having, "dearheart" will make you smile and better yet, she knows more about cheese than anyone on earth and will recommend the best ones to buy.
There's more than cheese and macaroni at PennMac. There's deli meats, fresh pasta, kitchen gadgets, PennMac's special homemade sauces, coffee, baked goods and even fish. It's a store that your grandparents and great grandparents would love for its family-oriented, one-stop shopping place.
If you can't get to the Strip you can enjoy the convenience of ordering online. All Cheeses are cut fresh the same day the order is shipped! But going to PennMac is worth the trip. You'll be munching in your car all the way home!
If you love biscotti then you simply have to go to The Enrico Bicotti Company, located in the Strip District. Enrico Biscotti hand shapes and bakes authentic Italian biscotti from all natural ingredients. You’ll find traditional Italian pastries, from macaroons to tortas, all baked fresh daily.
But what will surely catch your eye are the magnificent biscotti; huge - not the typical small, hard, no taste variety that seem to be everywhere. We hand shape and bake every loaf of biscotti, then hand cut every piece. The result is a biscotti that is not uniform in size and shape, but one that is unique, natural and true to the methods that bakers have used for hundreds of years.
Whether you are ording from anywhere in the world or just want to sit down in Pittsburgh and have a great cup of coffee or cappuccino, Enrico Biscotti company offers exciting things to do around town and also a unique experience for everyone to enjoy.
There’s also a bread making class. So invite your favorite fellow bakers and you’ll enjoy a big breakfast and then learn how to make Italian bread that you can take home to impress your family!
The Biscotti Company has character, charm and the best biscotti in Pittsburgh! Yummy!
Looking for places to shop downtown? Pittsburgh has a lot! With no tax in PA on clothing and necessities, it's a great way to spend an entire day, or a an hour between meetings.
Try department stores such as: Macy's, Saks Fifth Ave, Brooks Brothers, Burlington Coat Factory, Larrimor's
OR, how about Fifth Avenue Place- with specialty shops such as: Betsy Ann Chocolates, Avenue, Tall Girl, Crystal River Gems
OR, the Strip District for boutiques and handmade goods, produce, etc: Art of Steel, Hot Haute Hot, Penn Avenue Pottery, The Enrico Biscotti Company, Fudgie Wudgie Fudge and Chocolate Factory... too many to name!
It's great to spend a lunch break doing a little retail therapy, OR, my husband and I love to take a whole day during the weekend wandering in and out of shops, grabbing lunch or a coffee at local eatery or cafe and really enjoying what this great city has to offer!
What are you doing Thursday night?
If you happen to be in Butler County, stop by the Streets of Cranberry (on Rt. 19), grab a cup of coffee and hang out for the FREE Summer Concert Series! Every Thursday, all summer long, the Streets of Cranberry is hosting local musicians right in the center of the shopping plaza.
Spectators can grab a seat on one of the many benches or cafe tables, watch kids play in the fountain and check out local favorites like Nick Marzock.
And if you want to come early... there is, of course, some great shopping to be done at one of the many stores in the Streets of Cranberry plaza.
Check it out!
Good morning! This past weekend, my husband and I ventured to the Three Rivers Arts Festival and had a blast! It was great to see so many people in downtown Pittsburgh enjoying the weather on a warm Saturday. We started at Point State Park, visiting tent after tent of talented artist selling his/her wares, then made a stop at the Fort Pitt Blockhouse to learn a little bit of history. We traveled across the point where Fort Pitt once stood, and made it to the fountain as the wind blew a mist of water our way (thank goodness... It was so hot out!!!)
After taking some photos and stopping just to enjoy the view, we headed back. Grabbed a HUGE snow cone at one of the many food vendor tents to help curb the heat. We crossed the street and spent the rest of the afternoon browsing more and more tents filled with everything from pottery, modern art, country crafts, jewelry... the list goes on!
Afterward, we made our way to Market Square and sat outside sipping coffee, watching the world go by. What a great Saturday in downtown Pittsburgh!
The Strip District is one of my favorite places to go on a Saturday morning. It is bustling with activity and filled with wonderful aromas. You can pick up everything from fresh fish to cheese to biscotti to flowers. Everything you need for dinner with friends you'll find in the Strip.
There's also lots of little shops and stores to explore. You'll find gourmet chocolate, exotic spices, ethnic ingredients, coffee, books, sports memorabilia and more. There are restaurants all along the way where you can duck in and have a bite.
You won't find fresher produce anywhere and the prices are great and it all comes from local folks. So you can buy fresh and buy local.
The Strip District coms alive at night. You can dine, dance or just sit outside and enjoy a warm evening. The area is pretty compact so once you park you can walk along the Strip without having to drive from place to place.
There's something for everyone in the Strip. Find your favorite things and be a frequent visitor!
Tonight, the hubby and I are headed to Siba Cucina in Cranberry Twp (Butler County) PA. Siba is a great restaurant for special occasions- with a great atmosphere and fantastic service. The waitstaff is very professional and the food- amazing! I have never had a bad meal there. My favorites: Roasted Red Pepper and Chicken Farfalle and my newest fave: Chicken Picatta.
A few tips:
1. Make reservations before you go. Siba is packed on the weekends. Well worth the wait, but save yourself some time.
2. Go hungry! The bread and dipping sauce brought out before the meal is SO GOOD! The dipping sauce is a perfect blend of spices and a great compliment to the fresh, warm bread.
3. Check out the wine list. So many great choices! And if you're unsure, ask your server for some suggestions.
So if you need a place to bring a date, celebrate a special occasion or grab dessert and a cup of coffee, check out Siba Cucina!
It is a cool, rainy day and time for lunch. I am in the mood to sit somewhere quiet with a hot drink and a good book. So I went to the Starbucks that is located inside the Omni William Penn Hotel. Drink in hand I wandered into the lobby area and plopped down in a velvety, comfy chair facing the entrance so I could peoplewatch.
As I sipped my sweet, hot drink I drifted into the lives of the characters in my book. The next thing I knew I was dozing off, my styrofoam cup tilting sideways in my hand. Luckily the lid was secure and I jolted awake before it spilled. The Omni lobby is a peaceful place to be and the background music and snippets of conversation lulled me into a light sleep.
Embarrassed by my nodding off episode I sat straight up in that darn comfortable wingback chair and decided to peoplewatch. There was a mini meeting of professionals sitting on the sofa across from me; nearby a woman clutching a dripping umbrella and a shopping bag emerged from the revolving doors, taking obvious refuge from the rain outside; a couple strolled by arm in arm. They were dressed up and looked like they had somewhere special to go; a hotel staff person gathered discarded newspapers left by an earlier reader; a suited man hunkered over his laptop as he mumbled into his cell phone. And there I sat watching everyone, observing other people's lives from my comfy chair and indulging in a little eavesdropping as I pretended to read my book.
It was a calm, serene way to spend my lunch hour. I enjoyed just being by myself, sitting in a place where nobody knew me or expected anything from me. Just enjoying a warm drink on a cool day in a beautiful hotel that is part of the city's history.
I will do that again soon.

My sweet tooth rules my life! It leads me astray more often than I care to admit and where it takes me often gets my waistline into lots of trouble! I always crave something sweet after lunch and dinner. Most of the time I try to grab something healthy like a fruit pop or a piece of fruit. But more often than not, the temptation is stronger than my willpower and I go on a hunt for sweets. Today was one of those days!
I had eaten a nice lunch of soup and a roll, which should have sufficed. But too much chatter from my sweet tooth sent me in search of dessert. I popped a piece of gum in my mouth to distract myself, but to no avail. My sweet tooth won out and I was on a mission to satisfy it.
So I talked my ever-healthy-eating friend into walking with me to Starbucks for a latte. I assured her that the latte would take care of my sweet tooth. Yeah right. As soon as the dessert counter came into view I was in a sugar trance. My friend preferred to stay on the straight and narrow and ordered iced coffee with rather complicated instructions. As I heard the barristas repeating her strict drink instructions --"skim milk, no foam, no whipped cream," I heard myself blurting "everything she doesn't want, put in mine!" And then I added "and a slice of that banana nut bread with the icing." Knowing it would go from my lips to my hips by the time I got back to the office, I figured I may as well enjoy it! Well that banana bread was the best I ever tasted and it was well worth the calories.
Starbucks has great desserts. Their blueberry coffee cake is to die for and so is the pound cake. But most of their desserts are very large and very dene.
So the next time I'll opt for just coffee and dessert (yeah right)!
In Butler County, PA you can find the Streets of Cranberry- a relatively new and compact area of shops and restuarants perfect for a day of relaxing, taking your time and revamping your wardrobe.
I took advantage of Saturday's beutiful weather and spent some time there this weekend. I had lunch at Aladdin's, and very cool Lebanese restuarnt with outdoor seating and fresh & healthy food. Other lunch options include First Watch Cafe and Houlihan's.
Shopping options for clothing include: White House Black Market, Talbot's, Chico's, Old Navy, Ann Taylor LOFT, NY&Co, Coldwater Creek, J. Jill... and the list goes on. But don't stop at just clothing! You can visit Kirkland's to find a little something for your home, Omaha Steaks to fill the freezer, and even some stores for the kids!
But don't forget your 4-legged friend! Just Dogs offers a wide selection of gourmet dog treats that your precious pooch can pick out him/herself! And when the day is done, grab a fresh cup of coffee, latte or espresso at Steamers. Take your coffee outside, sit on one of the many benches near the fountain and relax.
And if it's during the summer... you may catch some live musical entertainment by local talent.
Check it out!
Good morning! I strayed from my usual routine after getting off the bus and wandered into Crazy Mocha for a cup of decaf. Missing my usual caramel Macchiato... loaded with espresso and exorbitant amounts of caffeine (not good to consume while pregnant) I've been settling for decaf 1 or 2 times per week.
Crazy Mocha is a local Pittsburgh coffee chain with a great, clean, urban, funky atmosphere. The baristas are friendly and the java is fresh, and they also serve other breakfast goodies. I added a shot of caramel to my medium decaf (an acceptable substitute for a Macchiato at this point) and was on my way. My only regret is not being able to spend more time in the cafe to relax and enjoy my coffee on this brisk Pittsburgh morning.
Have a good one!
